Project description
Grigoryan's defining feature is its extensive glazing, which establishes the rhythm of the entire two-storey facade. In this 278 m² house, tall glazed planes alternate with light-coloured vertical sections and timber accents. Low roof lines and the side wing extend the composition and connect it to the open space of the plot.
The walls use insulated concrete blocks, with a strip foundation and cast-in-place reinforced concrete floors in the structural design. Timber facade boards are used in the finishes. Its lengthwise pattern complements the vertical windows and adds a warm tone beside the dark frames. Timber connects the house's precise geometry with its country surroundings.
Standing seam roofing suits the restrained architecture through its even metal planes and linear seam pattern. It gives the facades a restrained upper finish. The visual focus remains on the glazing and building proportions, while timber soffits continue the theme of the facade finishes.
Five bedrooms and three bathrooms accommodate varied family routines, while the double-height space gives the shared area extra volume. The terrace provides a place to gather and relax outdoors, while the garage complements the utility areas. In this house, separate private rooms are combined with a spacious shared area, emphasised by the architecture of the tall windows.
