Project description
Barkhin is a 160 m² single-storey house with an extended facade and a substantial dark cornice. Timber finishes and a deep roof overhang distinguish the entrance area. Light-coloured wall sections and large windows balance the substantial upper line, giving the low house a distinctive appearance without making it feel heavy.
Aerated concrete walls are combined with facade panels and timber boards. Panel finishes reinforce the even geometry of the volume, while timber gives the entrance a warmer feel. Different textures divide the facade into clear parts: solid walls, glazing and the space beneath the roof canopy.
The flat roof defines the entire silhouette here. It keeps the main mass of the building horizontal, while the broad cornice becomes an architectural feature in its own right. The foundation is a reinforced concrete slab, and the floor structure is cast-in-place reinforced concrete. These solutions concern the structure of the house, while the exterior retains simple lines.
Three bedrooms and two bathrooms are arranged on one storey. Without an internal staircase, routes between rooms are simpler, while the terrace adds space to relax outdoors. This house is convenient for a family needing separate rooms without dividing daily life across several levels.
