Project description
The composition of the 159 m² single-storey Zakharov house is based on simple rectangular forms. Light-coloured render, a dark plinth and a timber accent make the facade easy to read at first glance. A small canopy marks the entrance, while the flat roof keeps the building's silhouette low beside the trees and neighbouring buildings.
The exterior walls are built with aerated concrete. Its thermal insulation properties benefit a year-round home, while rendered finishes create even, light-coloured surfaces. Timber facade boards add a natural grain and highlight the central part of the facade. The selective use of timber keeps the finishes restrained and avoids breaking up the single-storey form.
A strip foundation and a cast-in-place reinforced concrete floor form part of the project's structural scheme. The flat roof has an architectural role above all: it unites facade sections with a single horizontal line and emphasises the different heights of the rectangular elements. Attention is focused on the proportions of walls and windows rather than a decorative roof silhouette.
The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with all rooms on one level. This arrangement suits those who prefer to avoid climbing stairs every day. The terrace extends the living area with space for summer breakfasts and relaxation, retaining a direct connection between the house and plot.
