Project description
The 253 m² Nikolskiy is distinguished by the clear division of facade materials. The dark brick ground floor appears solid, while warm timber finishes on the upper floor soften the overall silhouette. Extended cornices, posts and the covered terrace establish a horizontal rhythm that unites the different parts of the two-storey house.
The load-bearing walls are brick; the foundation is a reinforced concrete slab, and the floors are cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The cladding uses clinker brick and timber facade boards. Clinker brick suits distinctive dark surfaces, while timber boards add a natural grain that is especially visible across the large upper floor planes.
The asphalt roofing complements the restrained texture of the pitched roof. Its fine pattern does not distract from the contrast between brick and timber, while the dark shade connects the roof to the lower level of the facade. The repeated colour keeps the house cohesive, even though the finishes combine materials with different textures.
The layout includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a study and a principal bedroom suite. The terrace provides a separate place to gather outdoors and extends the building's horizontal composition. This house combines distinctive materials with a straightforward arrangement of family rooms: private life, work and relaxation each have their own space.
