Project description
The 250 m² Klein house combines a contemporary layout with the familiar silhouette of a pitched roof. Brick accents complement the white facades, while dark windows and roofing bring the different parts of the building into one composition. The lower covered volume by the entrance softens the transition from two storeys to the courtyard.
The brick walls stand on a reinforced concrete slab, and the floors are cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The exterior finishes combine facade render and clay brick. Large light-coloured surfaces make the house appear lighter, while masonry highlights selected areas and adds texture where the facade needs a stronger accent.
Metal roof tiles complement the traditional roof form and repeat the dark tone of the window frames. The roofing profile is clearly visible on the low slopes without overloading the white facades with small decorative details. Deep eaves unite the main roof and canopy, making the side area appear as an extension of the house rather than a separate structure.
The house has three bedrooms, including a principal bedroom suite, three bathrooms and a study. This allows separate rooms for relaxation and work. A terrace provides space to relax on the plot, while a canopy creates a covered outdoor area. The entrance, courtyard and living rooms form a continuous setting for everyday life.
