Project description
The 264 m² Levin house stands among tall pine trees, and its finishes complement this setting. Vertical timber facade boards echo the tree trunks, while dark brickwork gives the ground floor a calm, solid appearance. Deep eaves and a glass balustrade give the two-storey volume a lighter appearance.
The walls are aerated concrete, with exterior finishes in long-format brick and timber boards. Long-format brick strengthens the horizontal facade lines, while timber areas establish a contrasting vertical rhythm. The combination connects the architecture to the wooded plot without literally repeating natural forms.
The low profile of the flat roof keeps the eaves and timber soffit as the main accents. The broad roof overhang creates a more intimate space beside the facade, complementing the terrace and canopy. A reinforced concrete slab and cast-in-place floors form the structural basis of the house, while the exterior materials provide its visual warmth.
The layout provides three bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a study and a principal bedroom suite. The house suits a combination of family life and working from home. Extensive glazing maintains a visual connection to the trees, while the terrace allows relaxation to move from indoors to the open air within the familiar setting of the plot.
